Al Foah Launches “Al Foah Reads” Library

In coordination with the Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority's National Library, Al Foah Company, the largest date company in the world, has opened a library at its headquarters at Emirates Dates Factory in Al-Saad, Al Ain. The move, which aims to encourage reading, comes in response to His Highness President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s declaration of 2016 as the “Year of Reading”.

The library was opened in a ceremony attended by H.E. Mohammed Ghanim Al Qesaili Al Mansouri, Deputy CEO of Al Foah Company, and Rashid Abdulrahman, Director of Zayed Central Library, along with Al Foah’s managers and employees.

His Excellency Eng. Dhafer Ayed Al-Ahbabi, Chairman of Al Foah Company, said the dedication of 2016 as the year of reading was an admirable step in the UAE’s progression towards a future that is based on science and knowledge. He added that the move fostered a reading culture in all areas and slices of society, including Al Foah’s employees, suppliers and clients, citing the important role educated citizens could play in preserving the UAE culture and contributing to the nation's development.

On his part, H.E. Musallam Obaid Al Khales Al Ameri, CEO of Al Foah, stated that the library was established to encourage the employees and Al Foah's partners to read in their own time or while waiting for their transactions and paperwork to be completed. He stressed on the benefits of reading and its role in promoting mental health, building people’s characters, supporting innovative thinking, and knowledge development. He also highlighted the importance of reading and its impact on our lives and work performance.

Meanwhile, H.E. Mohammed Ghanim Al Qesaili Al Mansouri, Deputy CEO of Al Foah Company, commended the role of the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority’s National Library in making the initiative a success, by supplying Al Foah’s Library with books in various fields, contributing to the employees' aspiration of having diverse genres for reading. Al Mansouri also expressed his gratitude to Al Foah's employees who showed great enthusiasm for the initiative, and looked forward to having ongoing activities that will enhance their intellectual and knowledge capacities to drive the progress of the company's global expansion.
